In a maze of dreamlike trees where volume and texture predominate, Miguel Ángel López’s professionalism and craftsmanship are evident at first glance. In his painting we find a great metaphor, where he empties his natural instinct and opens himself up to the world, like those first men who walked in the open air and delved into the landscapes of their surroundings and those of their memories; both fused within him.
His work insists on a fresh, bucolic language, which is individually combined in the fragments that make up his paintings. Each piece contains a lush concept, like broad branches where songs to Mother Earth and everything that dignifies her origins appear.
Viewers who approach Miguel Ángel López’s work with sincerity will feel the devotion exuded by those who love, because there is no hesitation in using color to ignite the heart with the most sublime thing man has to offer: creation.
This is how an oasis or a bonfire is created, a child’s voice or the clamorous plea of a defenseless man who depends on the will of a higher, divine power. The artist thus achieves plasticity through his skill, but with the power of his emotion.
